Sara Austin is a professional hair makeup and prosthetics artist, specialising in flawless airbrush make-up and also contemporary and period hair and wig styling and maintenance. Sara’s recent work has included a 4 week film Shoot ‘Fossil’ Starring the award winning Actress Carla Juri, in the South of France where she was the Make up Designer. A five week horror film ‘Scar Tissue’ working along side Jane Stiefel. Numerous television programs such as ‘60 Minutes’ for channel 9, in Australia, and ‘True Stories’ for BBC2;and on going TV work with Premier League Productions plus working at some summer vintage festivals for Lisa George.

After graduating from the University of Hertfordshire with a First Class (Hons) degree in Model Design and Special Effects, Sara Austin’s career progressed into make-up artistry. Her prosthetic background began during her four month internship at Madame Tussauds in 2005-6, and progressed over the following two years to creating full sized, articulating models of dead bodies and severed limbs for the Metropolitan Police training services. In 2006, Sara worked as a props artist for the acclaimed Channel Four film ‘Margate Exodus’, before taking further courses in make-up, hair and prosthetics application. Sara has been assisting John Woodbridge with his airbrush make up training courses for over two years now. She has successfully taken on head of department and coordinating roles within make up artistry. Her latest qualification is in Period Hair and Wig Styling and Maintenance with NASMAH, tutored by Stephanie Kaye. |
